as much as i tend to agree with the decision i am really not sure that this is the way to go. a few reasons:
1. this measure was brought about to stop trolling and unnecessary bickering. that is fine but serious and diverse discussion about politics won't happen now.
2. elections in the u.s. happen every four years, this place gets flooded with election threads and then they fade away by themselves. stuff is *trending* sometimes, you know ;)
3. i always liked this place for its anarchistic approach, both the way it works and for the people here. over the years i learned who to filter even "visually" while browsing.
4. from the deleted content i have to say, i did enjoy a post or two. some crazy and funny stuff was there.
5. i engaged in political threads not only once, not in a big way but i did. and i am bound to say something "political" in the future too, even if out of context in another thread. why should i worry about that when i want to say something on the internet?
6. who can judge for sure what is "political" content and what's not.other than that, i love all you cunts :)

I've been coming to QBN for at least 8 years now.
Never wanted to comment as I felt my voice wasn't needed but as a bi-stander and potential kiss arse *- I want to say thanks to you all, you made me laugh, entertained me, best source of gif animation and art styles/opinions.One thing I noticed has been the decline of support/ community and the rise 'trolling'. I'm against banning but as my recent dealings with a crazy landlady you just cant reach out and deal with some people (not declaring people here are crazy).
It would be nice to use each others gifts/talents to help again -
that said my areas I know are qt, colour science, nuke and c++/python on the VFX side of things so I can't imaging I'll be much help.There was a post a while back opening to meet in real life (LA side) and thought this was great to meet the real people. I'm London based and run a few film clubs in my works basement cinema. I'm currently checking with facilities if I'm allowed to open this up. That said I'd have to vouch for you all so if anyone is interested fancy a meet up in London some time?

I'm going to contribute my 2 cents into this conversation since others have also.
My observation in my absence and pre return of jazx is that political content such as the hate trump thread, candidates thread, few side politics threads like obama so cool. still flourished at pace.
I do admit as of late there were to many threads on politics drowning out of what ever little of design content was posted.
However in this observation I would like to add that when in my absence and lack of political push back against lets say leftist candidates, there were no complaining whats so ever on this website, or saying that this site is "going to shieet" no matter how disgusting utopes posts were. how deluded, sarcastic, name that method of ridicule against what is labeled/stereotyped as conservative ideas. May I add the heavy making fun of Christians in the religious thread. it was standard qbn practice. and everyone had a go at it. fun times. good old days of qqq discrimination.
As of late, the paradigm has shifted and some of you have woken up a bit to the reality that the left paradigm is full of crap and is going to decline for lack of functional common sense and failure to deliver solutions. As we have plenty of information, statistics, history (non gov school propaganda of historic events), decline of mainstream media and current events of the leftist insanity. there is a shift, which is also felt and seen a bit on qbn.
Some of what we call/stereotype as right leaning posts have gotten a bit better in grasping the reality and have developed a better comedic value against the left, as opposed to how it was in the past. so the roles are reversing.
I understand that this push back may offend, or scare some people. those who are used to a certain ridicule flow and their views dominating this website seem to have gotten a little penetration( if you can pardon the metaphor). I could almost feel blood vessels in the brain dilating and pushing back blood nourishment in the presence of contradiction.
now that there is a change coming, instead of validating the truth or debating with facts. the path of least resistance seems to be is to start yelling, name calling, and making up traumas in using words such as condescending, quality, racist while engaging in contradictory behavior. leading a cry for more regulation as typical leftist behavior cant handle the unexplored contradiction of facts vs feels.
so this brings us to the current outrage and what we just witnessed. by the book cultural marxism. defensive behavior of those whos ideals do not stand the test of reality. which is unfortunate.
the comparison i could think of is that perhaps some dogs are to old to learn and this reminds of old grand mothers of Stalinist rule still loyal to the tyranny even though the times have changed.
not saying that we are completely free and might still be going through the eye of the storm of a dysfunctional system grinding down. well thats my 2 cents for now. hope you guys have good day.

Why did the "Yurimon Of The Day" thread get deleted? Why does yurimon get to fling his shit all over this website but we can't call him out on it?
Because it seems to me that certain QBN members – yurimon, drake, and Georges being the most notable – were extremely vocal about their ideas being censored. Of course, their ideas WEREN'T being censored, but they were still very adamant about their freedom of speech being infringed upon. Side note: I disagreed with their stance publicly in a post, and that post was deleted by the Mods.
Is a thread dedicated to one member really so horrible? As I recall, the bulk of that thread was screenshots of things that yurimon had posted. Screenshots. So, it's not like people were unfairly attacking him.
Perhaps I should just let it go, but today yurimon posted this.
To be clear, I have not called ANYONE here a racist. Only Trump. And, in my defence, even Paul Ryan is calling Trump a racist this week, so my comments are not at all out of line.
And yet, yurimon gets to call me a racist? Fine, I guess he is allowed to say anything he wants. I can handle it.
I know he's just being an asshole. It's his nature to be an asshole. But, if this were the real world (or Facebook or Twitter) then calling me a racist in public without reason would be bordering on slander.
All I wanted to do was screenshot it and share for posterity. I'm not trying to gang up on him or misquote him. Just a screenshot. But the thread has been deleted. I'd like to know why.

One would hope that members realize that moderators do not have the ability to monitor all posts, comments, etc. every second of the day.
One would further hope that members appreciate that moderators should not have to spend nearly as much time as they have of late sifting through an endless number of pointless arguments, petty insults, profanity, gripes, pissing contests, and otherwise unsavory behavior towards each other.
There is a simple set of options available to some participating here: It's up to each of you to determine whether you continue perpetuating the above-described actions that the majority here clearly disapprove of and have become routinely annoyed by. You can continue as you do, understanding that it means more clean up for moderators who should really just be deleting spam accounts on an infrequent basis, or, you can step outside, scream at a tree, get it out of your system, and come back a few minutes later when your mind is clear.
This place is what you make of it. Remember that.
