I've been excepted as a contributor on both istockphoto and shutterstock.
Anyone had any success with either? Which one is better for contributing? Best returns?

They are both exceptional.

always wondered what you need to send in to get accepted as a contributor.
mind sharing more about your experience? how much pictures, how much subjects? any good links on what they require?

Early days for me tbh. Still trying to discover this for myself.
Shutterstock required 10 photos to be assessed and istock only 3. Of my 10 shutterstock photos, only 2 were actually excepted, but was I was still given the ok.I submitted mainly landscapes to get excepted, but realistically you need to put a bit more thought into what your submitting once your a contributor and put yourself in the shoes of someone looking for stock photos.
- Now that I'm sure it wasn't a typo, the word is accept not except.tryother
