So it seem the hiring wording dynamic, job descriptions, responsibilities and client expectations have changed yet again in the web dynamic.

So the needs are as follows. Excellent Web copy that considers the following:

    1) branding /differentiation
    2) copy to target an audience / also help a strategy to determine an audience and work with a designer/programer to come up with a look.
    3) copy with seo in mind
    4) copy for excellent direct response / increase calls from copy

Do you usually hire 2 people for this type of job or it is possible to hire one person with this ability now days?.

What would this job description be called? content manager?

I'm not sure anything has really changed significantly, actually. These kinds of copy requirements have applied to communications for decades and are usually integral to any brand's existence.

In my opinion, any experienced copywriter could and should be able to handle this without issue. I do not believe this would be anything more than a single person. They probably don't even have to be a content manager, but instead someone who would work closely with an art or creative director.

    • IC thanks for the info. Its still someone needs to be intune with the market and have the market research, know the audience. etc. that would be the artyurimon
    • or creative director.yurimon
    • The biggest issue is that the client demands an all in one writer but when you talk to people they dont do marketing and just need guidance.yurimon
    • yes, the AD or CD would be intimate with the project and relay that to the copywritermonospaced

    What Mono said.

All i'd add is that copy with SEO in mind is not something a copywriter would naturally produce. The requirement of SEO'd copy often runs contrary to good copywriting.
This is easily combatted by having an SEO expert input their requirements at the briefing stage.

    • thank you for the clarificationmonospaced
