Well be travelling from the UK to NYC in November for black Friday and wondered if anyone would give us some good tips for places to eat, 'different' things to see and do?
We're staying across from the empire state if that helps
Hoping to get an ew superglider deck on the plane back lol
And should have a good view of the parade!
Mucho thanks in advance

November?
- 2002-2
You are here for thanksgiving
Its little far out for you to make plans to see / eat etc unless its year around .
Better to think of something seasonal. You can start making reservations or plan about 2-3 months ahead (if any).

New York may not be here by then. Spring was a couple days ago. Now you're talking Fall. Comeback in October and we'll hook you up with spots.

The one thing I always tell people when they're coming to visit: start planning your trip at least eight months in advance. If you're going to be here in November, start scheduling everything in early March. Otherwise you'll definitely have a terrible time.
Almost everyone who has ever visited New York will tell you that they hated it, and this is probably why.
You're a bit late, you should've started a few weeks ago. You might want to consider moving your trip to December. Or 2016. If it were me, I'd move it to 2019 just to be safe.

You'll be staying near Korea town, so definitely have dinner on 32nd street (between 5th and 6th) at one of the BBQ places. It'll be pretty cold so you'll want to lean toward more indoor activities. I don't recommend actually going shopping on black friday, so maybe head to the Union Square farmer's market instead, or out to the Brooklyn flea market for a different vibe and some good food. It's not 'different' but I do recommend the 9/11 Memorial and the museum there, as well as a journey through downtown toward South Street Seaport.
I'll try to think of better unique activities over the months. What kind of thing are you looking for?
- He's not in the navy bro. though korea town is a good place to stay. real authentic korean places are in flushing queens.yurimon
- Navy has nothing to do with this. He's staying near K-town, I didn't recommend staying there. Also, K-town has amazing authentic food.monospaced
- 911 memorial? I challenge you to explore ktown flushing. true prob more expensive k restaurants on the authentic side.yurimon
- Mono at korea town? grosspinkfloyd
- Yes. 9/11 memorial. It's not just for the navy although many of the navy died that day. Derp.monospaced
- Also I'm not arguing authenticity between flushing and nyc. I just made a recommendation you imbecile.monospaced
- Wonjo is a great table grilling bbq place in korea town. plus if you play your cards right you can drink upstairs till breakfast.BH26
- Yes, New Wonjo is really good. Shilla is a contender as well for BBQ.monospaced
