Any recommendations for a good host for a small personal site?
Any good deals out there?

I'm using inmotion. No complaints so far and a great deal. Their customer service has been excellent

Is anyone using a specific hosting targeted for WordPress?
I didn't see anything specific in the above sites, though it might not make a difference (just some slick marketing to charge more?)?
Like MT's : http://mediatemple.net/landing/w…

Webfaction stands out for me because they have a custom control panel that makes setting up applications and linking them with domains very easy. It just takes a few seconds to set up a site. For personal site or small business, they seem to be the best balance between cost, performance and ease of use.

Maybe use free hosting that comes with your Adobe CC account if you have one. I've put up a couple sites with business catalyst with no issues.

Does anyone use a hosting service SPECIFICALLY for WP? I am not sure what they really offer over a regular hosting. I don't need some bad templates and wondering if this is just marketing bs or it'll actually be faster/better.
I have been using MT for about 15 years now, so not exactly inclined to change if I don't have to (GoDaddy had some real issues a few years ago, I never went back, but given they own MT now, wondering if there really is any difference between MT's WP and GoDaddy's WP packages)
(apologies for hijacking the regular hosting posts)
- I just set up a dreampress (on DreamHost) server for a friend. it is $20 a month and his site runs very fast and comes with some nice little perks.BabySnakes
