man, you can change from path to shape, and it will have stroke and fill properties like illustrator.
just draw a path and change it to shape, then change stuff like stroke width and fill options

Just double-click the shape layer of the stroke and you can edit its properties in the Stroke section.
- Make sure you're using the pen tool to create a shape, not a pathmonospaced

I did set the brush options first. Just not working.

if your stroke is a dotted line, I guess you are stroking with the brush tool, so set the brush tool first to the options you like and then stroke.

Ah ha, you need to create a new layer for the stroke option to work. Derp.
How do I control the stroke options? When you select the stroke option theres only a drop down for pencil, brush, etc... Obviously I dont stroke a whole lot in Photoshop.
- When I stroke its coming up as a dotted line.CygnusZero4

it works with any path. also the open ones.
...you sure you are working in the right layer?

Im trying to avoid making a closed path and having to delete parts of the stroke. That would be annoying for what Im trying to do.

Greyed out because its not a closed path.

Right click and "stroke path"?

If I create a line with the pen tool that isnt a closed path, I cant seem to stroke it (lol).
Is there a way to do this without closing the path or without making a selection and having to delete parts of the path?
