Music. I always design to music. Even better on those sessions from midnight till 5 am. I usually wear earplugs when I go to shows, but when I put my headphones on I crank that shit so high that the I weake up neighbors across the street from me (on my headphones). hahaha

Musically as a guitarist and songwriter, my biggest influences on the music I try to make are: Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, The Cure, The Catherine Wheel.
As far as design, in a loose sense I'd say that Scandinavian design, mid-century modern American design, and plenty of swiss minimalism is what appeals to me. So much of that is uncluttered, perfectly executed design. Simple lines. No fluff. And stuff that involves good walnut wood grain for texture is what really makes it live and breathe.
Photography: I'm really not sure. It's funny, I've been really involved in photography for several years now and there aren't many older photographers that I really reference as inspiration. People that I've come to know through my site, Expedition Bureau, continue to be inspiring to me, like Tim Navis, Owen Perry, Lance Gerber, Reuben Wu, Atle Rønningen.

Not so much individuals, but movements, artist groups and even bands. Bauhaus, the Warhol Factory, Fluxus, aspects of Punk, Factory Records etc.
Basically every moment, "art" steps out of it’s narrow focus and encompasses music, writing, design, industrial design, moving images as an collaborative effort.
All this not necessarily regarding asthetics but also because of ideals of social and economic interaction.Of course, most of these ideals have gone out the window now in the world of clients, quotes, time-tracking, invoices, deadlines...
To name a design studio I’ve always looked up to Experimental Jetset
