I am tired of macbook pro power cable wires breaking. I think every mac laptop I have had in the past few years has had the same problem.
I have seen a couple of products to try and solve the problem from the Python cord: https://www.kickstarter.com/proj… and the magsavior: http://www.magsavior.com/ and the Juiceboxx: https://www.kickstarter.com/proj…
Any recommendations? so I don't have to buy more new chargers because the cable has broken again!

how do you break them???
I have 3 power cables, 1 from the new one and two from my former mbps with adapters, who still all work and I'm not taking extreme care of them.

- I spool mine like that when I travel, but make sure not to stress the connecting ends. It's holding up 3+ yearsmonospaced

Ok, maybe it is me. I always thought I was careful with the wire that goes into the brick, but the wire finally seems to split. The last charger I made sure to wind carefully and not put stress on the join but 1.5 yrs in and the cable has split again.
It is obviously a problem for other people too as there are a number of posts on apple about it, and a number of products produced to try and reinforce this connection.
- Its not you - its bad design and part of business model. parts like this should never break unless treated badly.fadein11

Actually some of the reviews for the charger on the apple store seem to say the same thing: http://store.apple.com/uk/produc…
- A lot of people around me are having the same problems, that's scary.grotesk_neue

Do like me and buy a few $20 knock-off cables from Ebay and never worry about it again. They last longer than the real thing.

Right now I still use an old charger from 2007, which is a bit bigger than the new ones. No problems at all, neither with the ones before 2007.
But I see a lot of people around me having the same issues. The newer chargers are scary and really poor in quality.
Maybe try to get an old one on ebay? Or a knock-off, but personally I'd be cautious with that, too. They can be better, but also much worse. Power chargers are scary...

Only had a problem with one charger and that's because I kept letting the heavy connector fall onto the hard ground repeatedly. even then it lasted about two years.
I bought the replacement off of other world computing. they are slightly cheaper there and are Apple OEM just not in retail packaging.
