Bridge, as of CS6 and newer has dropped the contact sheet plugin, though it can be added in manually it's not technically supported and not even work on the later CC 2014 versions.
However, Indesign has a little known built-in script for doing contact sheets under the "Scripts" palette labeled "ImageCatalog".
(and yes, the lack of support for contact sheet generation in the Creative Suite is distressing)

I think this would be best handled through the print dialogue where you can tell how many pages to put up on a page. You would check "print spreads" and probably add a border to each.
This is way easier than actually making a contact sheet document. And you could print it to PDF if you wanted to as well.

It will be the directory for my book, so I need to include it in there again. Your idea (monospaced) is good, but I thought more of a script to have it placed in InDesign after I tell a dialogue to make the grid from page 2 - 198.

is this something Bridge can do? I've used bridge for this kind of thing before - but not with multi-page PDFs
