"a" unless you want to negotiate a lower rate
which seems like an obvious no

shut the fuck up and take it!!
just play ignorant and charge whats in the contract. if they say anything say "oh right! ill change that..."

well dudes, i was honest. I straight up said - i know we discussed the range, but we did eventually decide on a number and it was X. Looks like you put Y on the contract and i just wanted to make sure that wasnt a typo... Worked out in the end. They said it wasn't a typo / was worth it... warm fuzzies all around.
the way I thought about it, i was expecting the contract to say X so even if it turned out it was dropped back to X, i would have at least scored honesty points.. if not stupidity points. Looking forward to long term shit here, so I think it's all good in the end.

- I'm with you mantrakid. Even if it wasn't a test you did well.

Now you know to charge Y next time ;-)
I'd have done the same thing. Integrity (and honesty) is lacking in today's world. My bet is that it comes back to you ten fold, both in your client's enthusiasm, but also in their referrals.
- yeah the agreed rate was already negotiated below my normal rate, so anything to bring it closer helped. :)mantrakid

Is it a big difference? Always do the right thing.
