hmm i sort of want to see it and i'm not totally put off by this thread
Just got back from an IMAX 3-D show.
LOVED it. Can't wait for more.
It was terrible, just terrible. The bit where the news puts the Saviour caption up caused the whole audience to groan.
Only just passible to watch if you're; deathly hungover, led on the coach and the remote is the other side of the room.
FFS...12 bucks to watch Godilla fight Cloverfield and his mistress.
Not enough Cranston/Watanabe/Godzilla smashing things. Too much Shia Laboof wannabe guy.
Watched it after 4 pints... the first hour or so killed my buzz.. But the last half hour saved the night.
If you're a hardened Godzilla fan, you MUST see it. If you just like G-zilz as much as the next average movie goer, but couldn't really give that much of a shit, then yes, you'll probably find the movie could use less humans, or more interesting humans, and more monster action, but will probably like what you see.
Didn't like it. Not enough godziila if it was about godzilla and not enough human adversity it was about it.
The first 40 mins got my attention but soon after I started getting bored. The end was meh... Good visuals tho'
great monster. stupid plot. could have cut 40 mins out of the beginning of the movie.
they really stepped on his roar in this movie. that was sad. the MUTOs [cringe] were just as loud and our man was just another layer to the bombast. that said, favorite part of the movie was an eerie quiet stylistic moment of Gz with two lone piano keys placed far apart. Somebody deserves an award for that.
It's a good B movie. They did the original series justice.
That said, remember when that little boy is in the scene for like 10 minutes and then he's magically found by his parents again? That added a lot to the movie I'd say.
My favorite part was the scene where the soldiers skydived through the clouds.
was pretty meh... but I got to drink margaritas with a pretty girl so it wasn't all a bust
I'm still upset I spent 12 bucks on the 1998 movie... maybe cause I didn't watch it with a pretty girl
saw it and it reminded me a lot of the original movies I loved as a kid. Human character arcs are all backstory, the monsters are the drama that matters.
CGI was very good. Ranks well as an entertaining flick.
Whaaaaaah......the movie about a giant fucking lizard didn't live up to my expectations.
