"Beautiful photos by photographer Travis Gillett from his series “Freedom Behind Bars – Angola Prison Rodeo”. Started in 1964, the Angola Prison Rodeo at Louisiana State Penitentiary provides inmates a moment of freedom. Approximately 75% of inmates at Angola will never leave. Louisiana has the nation’s highest incarceration rate, and is known for tough sentencing. For those here serving time the rest of their days, the rodeo acts as a reminder of life on the other side. See more images below."

Really curious about the new Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III that Canon will present next week.
Rumours says APS-C sensor 24mpx with a 24-70mm lense AND dust and water resistant, dynamic image stabilization AND an electronic viewfinder. Very promising.
That could be a really nice small APS-C camera to have.

Asking for a friend here (really).
He shoots a lot of street stuff, he's not massively experienced but doing some really nice stuff and wants to progress it all with a new camera.
He's looking at these Fuji cameras currently - xt2, xt20 and xe3.
Anybody have any thoughts on these for street style stuff. Any pros and cons you can think of?
He currently has a sony rx 100 m2.
He likes the compactness of it but doesn't mind going a bit bigger and likes the idea of changeable lenses.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
- Erik Kim seems to like the xt2
http://erickimphotog…ok_not_ok - His entire site is dedicated to street shooting check it out!
http://erickimphotog…ok_not_ok - Those are pretty much the most perfect digital cameras for that right now.HijoDMaite
- for street I would go for something pocket size and you don't have to lug around with lenses, people are loving on the X100F, 23mm f2, day/night for street!robotron3k
- also the Lumix DMC-LX100 is really a Leica repackaged, amazing lens 10-40mm, 1.7-2.8 blazing fast.robotron3k
- xe3 sounds great. My xe2 served me well until I sold it recently, before that I used xe1. Great series. Good size in the hand, leveled top for attaching.....futurefood
- optical viewfinders, excellent sensor. Fun to use small compact flashes and switch over to electronic viewfinder.futurefood
- Check out the FlashQ trigger for your rx100mk2, if you like off camera flash.
I'm using rx100m1 so I can only use built flash. :(futurefood - in*futurefood
- I own the X-T20, the small version of the X-T2, almost the same thing, same image quality and all. Perfect for street photo.Bennn

Canon’s new mirrorless camera is like an M5 in a smaller (and cheaper) body

- Fail. No viewfinder. I have the original M, good pics, but w/o the viewfinder it sits at home (can't see a damn thing in that LCD in sun!)formed
- the battery drain with LCD on all the time is ridiculous, tooformed

very curious about this
wonder if we're finally getting closer to having a full frame sensor in phones.
- i wonder if they'll make it modular to work with the leica's motorola attachment. might not even need to.jaylarson

this guy got hands on some prototypes...looks cool, more like a cam than a phoneuan - can't have ff w/o the lens to fit the ff. I like Sony's ff cams, but the require ff lenses, so the advantage of mirrorless is eliminated (so I am with M43 now)formed

I'm looking for a small light source, LCD, battery operated. Any idea?? Something to bring into the forest to light small plants and mushrooms.
- LCD? I meant LEDBennn
- really anything...outdoor headlamp, silicon bike lights, dimmable torch, video leds...uan
- or get a speed lite with an EzyBox Speed-Lite for your cam.uan
- or get a small source (bike light, headlamp) into an ezybox. or use layers of semitransparent tape to dim them down...or move them far from the subjectuan
- you could use natural light and a sheet of polystyrene or white cardboard/plastic to bounce natural light into place.uan
- small subject -> use small lightsource...I could imagine using a candle would work nice for mushroomsuan
