This one really bums me out. Has for years... they really ruined a great service just by attempting to steal users from a service that is now shedding users due to their hijacking attempts.
I remember(2005ish) days of having a huge place for flickr uploads in my day b/c my paid acct was the only chance at cloud based storage of my RAW files with any decent UI.
First they killed my Delicious... Then this feels like the death rattle for flickr i have not been able to get into two of my most important flickr accounts and it kinda breaks my heart being locked out of them.

This was the email exchange with Flickr Customer Service.
-----------------------I work for a web design company. We always set up a Flickr account for clients. We have done this for many years, so we have many clients that have a Flickr account. We have always logged in with a Gmail account.
Now we are required to set up a yahoo account for each client to go in and edit the Flickr account. This wouldn't be a problem if setting up a Yahoo account didn't require a cell phone #. We are not going to ask every client for their personal cell phone # so we can access Flickr.
With this said.
Is there still a way to access A flickr account without creating a yahoo email account?
or
Is there a way to set a up a new Yahoo email account for each client without a cell phone #?Thanks for your help. This is a very frustrating Issue.

Hello,
Thank you for being a Yahoo user since 1998. We appreciate you choosing to use Yahoo and truly hope you continue to use Flickr, as you have been.
Unfortunately, a Yahoo account is now required to create a Flickr account and a mobile number is required to create a Yahoo account. I believe that the following Yahoo Flickr Help articles should be helpful in answering your question. Please use the links below to review the articles.
Why do I need to use a Yahoo account to sign in to Flickr?
Sign up for a Yahoo account
I hope the information I have provided to you above will help answer your question, Kristopher. Please let me know if you still need assistance.Regards,
Aaron

--------------------------------...Ok My company and myself are both done with Yahoo and Flickr. I hate to see such a great tool like Flickr go to shit once Yahoo takes over. Enjoy your downfall.

This is still an issue. Yahoo is forcing you to create a yahoo account to log into flickr.
Now all of the client accounts that we created for clients, we have to create a yahoo account for. And to create a yahoo account you need a cell phone.. I'm not going to ask clients for their cell phone number!!!! What the fuck have they done.
THIS SHIT IS SO DAMN FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!

we use flickr combined with galleria for image galleries

well you used to be able to login to flickr with a gmail account. Now they are forcing you to get a yahoo account.
You can't het a yahoo account without a cell phone number, so now if we want to continue using flickr for clients we have to get them to verify a yahoo account with someone at their company's cell phone.
ridiculous
