I have two wired QWERTY keyboards (one for my iMac and one for my Macbook).
This is my fourth keyboard I have to replace in almost 6 months time. Once I spilled some minor amount of beer on it, so I can understand it wasn't to keen on that.
The three other times though, it was simply by unplugging the board from my iMac that it stopped working.
Is there something with my USB port, or do you have experienced similar problems?

I hear you man, nothing similar but they are really easy to break.. I mean really really easy to break,I've been using my trusty MS keyboard for 6 years now, beer, paint, water, coke, baby food, it went trough everything fine, I don't even unplug it anymore when it gets wet,
2 years ago, decide to be trendy n shit, buy that apple full keyboard bs, kid pour some water on it,
"C" and "I" key die,
keyboard isn't useful anymore...
fuck it, went back to my trusty MS keyboard, don't even get me started on the mighty mouses..

I've had my wireless one for a year. Only had to replace the batteries once so far and it works perfectly.

- All keyboards are washable. You just need to let them dry before you use them again.nb
- My high school teacher washed all the keyboards after each semester in his dishwasher.nb
- this is true... it's the corrosives and sugars (sodas and cleaners) that really fuck up the insides, not the watermonospaced

You may have some sort of static electricity issue, and it's killing the keyboard when you unplug from USB. I know I previously had some sort of weird issue with my wired keyboard before. The keyboard worked, I was just getting a quick shock whenever I initially touched it -- Because of that lil shock (not to be a pussy or anything but that shit was a pain first thing in the morning), I switched over to the wireless keyboard.
... which works great, never had any issues. You have to charge it every once in a while (I'd say about once every two months for me), but I just have a spare set of Apple rechargeable batteries that I keep charged and just swap em' out whenever it gets low, and recharge the used up set.
If you can't use the smaller version because it's missing the numpad, Belkin is coming out with it as a separate matching product which you could get alongside the smaller wireless keyboard>
http://www.belkin.com/us/F8T067-…- Just get ONE full keyboard.freedom
- Having them separate would be nice, especially when using a Wacom. You can position them all accordingly rather then having them in a fixed position.fyoucher1

- this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen done with computer peripheralsfeel

And impossible to clean - classic Apple - everything looks lovely when brand new but don't take hard usage v.well. the metal and white keys on my imac are getting pretty disgusting but was warned about the perils of cleaning it...
Hasn't broke though - my gripe is the mice or specifically that stupid nipple rodent - got through loads of those stupid things - yes I should have just gone for something else as a replacement but imacs look weird with non apple accessories I think (part of their clever plan methinks).- Just wipe it with a damp cloth then a dry cloth. Not hard.set
- great - thanks - I will try that. damp cloth - lol. problem is any moisture gets inside - keboard is fucked.fadein11
- Damp not dripping, then dry it off straight after. I've been doing it for years and years and years without a single problem.set

I've never had an apple keyboard break on me.

- yup, the keyboards are decent, I'm not a fan of the mice thoughmoldero
- Both the keyboard and magic mouse are perfect for meset
- the mighty mouse had it's problems.set
- Me neither I have a cheap Microsoft mouse instead. It's the only area I can think of where Apple is worse/CyBrainX

I love these keyboards (the white chiclets keys ones), I have 3 currently at home and none are broken nor impossible to clean.
Not sure what you to them.
- how do you clean them?fadein11
- for starters, stop jizzing on themmonospaced
- Pull off the keys and hoover the fucker, then clean with alcohol wipes.detritus
- how convenient. I gave up masturbation for lent - made no difference so started again.fadein11

I think I'm on my fourth now, and I'm a PC.
Great wee keyboards, and it's entirely not their fault if their drunken owner spills tea or cider over them, or even better — acrylic solvent weld, so the keys all warp and melt.
Fucking moron that I am.

if a apple keyboard breaks in the office and no one is around to fix it,
does mono sheds a tear?

I broke my last Apple keyboard with a desk wipe. The 't' would only work in conjunction with the shift key. Fucking bizarre.

"The three other times though, it was simply by unplugging the board from my iMac that it stopped working."
Yeah man, it needs to be plugged in to work.

I spilled some drink on my apple wireless keyboard and it had some problems connecting to my imac but it was only a few times. Other than that, it's one of the best keyboards i've ever used. Had it for a few years without any other problems.

I have a full size Apple Keyboard that you plug in because I do 3D and I love it. Best keyboard I have ever had. I love the feel of it.
- prophetone0
i still use my trusty full size usb that came with my mac pro like 6 years ago. no probs. i also use an old usb pro mouse.
- prophetone0
and if u dudes need to clean those stank, nasty ass keys of yours get a lysol wipe and gently go back and forth on the entire surface, it will sparkle like a godamm diamond for you.
