I use different tools for different things.
Inspiration collection: gimmebar.com
Web based tools: Well organized bookmarks in chrome
Code snippets: Git Repo

put everything on desktop, when the desktop is full put everything in new folder named "desktop shit", when full again, make new "desktop shit" folder and throw everything (+the old desktop shit folder) inside,
and so on and on, after a while it's like desktop-shit-ception

Folders inside folders inside external drives that I'm supposed to "check later".
That never happens.
But that means it's stuff I don't need, so I'm doing something wrong saving those in the first place I guess.

A few months ago I put everything on an external hard drive. It was fun to go through it and think about all the stupid ideas I had as a young designer. I organized the work by employer/client/project and haven't looked at it once since. I even got rid of duplicates and it took me much less time than I though it would. Maybe a few hours tops. Music, photos, etc also got organized on that hard drive.
Old mail I keep in a brown paper bag on the floor. Laundry is everywhere.

I just use good ole' bookmarks and do a search for when I need something (and organize my bookmarks into folders, etc). I couldn't imagine grabbing pics or files for all of that stuff and trying to organize it in an app. What happens when that app no longer works or isn't supported on your new OS years from now?

Generally, by project name. For programming work, if I make something useful to be used later, I'll make a library out of it and store it separately.

Thinking about this makes me anxious.

Hi guys,
Im trying to improve the way I organize and document all my stuff.
I've got local folders full of images of inspiration, web stuff, app stuff, motion stuff. I've got folders full of code snippets for web stuff.
Im unsure weather to blog it, or pinterest, anyone use ember app?

any alternatives to it?Just curious how you geniuses manage your stuff :)
Im not talking in terms of how you organise projects + files as such, but no harm in sharing that (i know there is an old thread like it about).
Thanks!
