I might have a bit more easy approach when using cinema or after effects for gifs.
Export a quicktime from C4D or AE with alpha and animation codec (remember to set depth in format options to "millions of colors+" and selecting the Alpha Channel in the save tab of the render settings).
In the photoshop top menu select file>import>video frames to layers.
goto step 10 in Albums checklist above.
That should do the trick as well.- what self respecting person exports video from c4d though? you lose the entire video in the case of a crash.albums
- Sounds like you have a buggy workflow if it keeps crashing on you. Cant remember having had that problem.islandbridge
- i've never had it happen either but image sequences are more reliable and higher quality.albums
- image sequences are actually recommended for their lack of compression problems and...albums
- useful when creating multiple movie types. I'd rather render a sequence then create different videos from that...albums
- than export video after videoalbums

- do love how you implied my system had a fault though I never stated that it did. ;)albums
- Anyone who knows their way around 3D knows never use video. Always image sequenceanimatedgif

Anyone is using a good software to makes gifs easy?
I was using GIF Brewery which was great for a while, but now it stopped looping, so gifs only play a single time, even after I set them to "loop forever"
http://gifbrewery.com/- If you use AE to make the anims, check out aescripts.com. There's a plugin some folks made that'll export GIFs for you.fyoucher1

This guy makes GIFs all the time. He has some good ideas about diffusion methods too.
