I think we're supposed to be impressed.
The message is that it can be any color and, um. Must have cost a lot to make.

I am happy to see Google invest in some advertising. I still can't quite get how they have a great phone, great idea, but the advertising has been so mediocre (this goes for most phone advertisements, but Apple continues to be the best at ads).
I guess you'd be impressed if you bought that print mag, but it has been a long time since I bought wired.

I heard you like ads...

Are you saying you aren't impressed? If I saw that in a mag I'd think it was pretty cool. Good stuff motorola.
Its a bonus that the Moto x and Moto g are getting great reviews.

Anyone else beginning to think that Google is just playing the "we got more cash and profits than anyone and we can wait it all out"?
I am thinking about Facebook...they just reduced the reach you have with fans to around 3%. That's insane, imho, if you have 10000 fans/likes, you only reach 300 with each post.
UNLESS you pay for the "boost".Google+ could, potentially, continue to be free. Google makes enough off the ads, etc., that they could just sit by and wait for Facebook (a one trick pony imho) to price small businesses out (like my photographer friends that rely on the networking and started using it when it was 100% reach).
For the phones I suppose they can continue to do the same...just wait for Apple or Samsung to stumble (whether that really happens remains to be seen, but historically, no company dominates for too long). Nexus and Motos are superb phones and will continue to build a cult-ish following.
Just trying to get a grasp on why they aren't really pushing these things, not like Apple and Samsung, and they are arguably equal quality.
- Google has the most profits than anyone? Since when?monospaced
- yeh good point. Like samsung spend insane amounts on marketing, it does them well. Google could do it to.Hombre_Lobo

@formed,
I'm thinking something similar to this, google is like a cell trying to evolve, they are trying every kind of ventures and are not shy to kill those who won't make it, just look at their cemetery and you can see the pattern,
launch product > see how it works > kill it > launch new product > include functions from dead product > see how it works > kill it > launch new ...
I think they are just testing the waters, the worrying part is that they are now look at there other ventures,
mobile phone > glasses > self driving cars > drones > robots > skynetin perspective, google is to the world what samsung is to korea, they will be in everything even chocolate if you let them
