Done a wordpress site for a client.
They can change 95% of things themselves.
5% is hard coded that we change manually for them.
They want OUR FTP details so 'their IT savvy mate' can change the 5% themselves.
Am I at liberty to do this?
What if they fuck the site up and there is no undo so to speak?
Technically they may have access to out entire hosting account...
Thoughts please

tell them they'll need to organise their own hosting, send in the bill and wash your hands of it. or set up a totally separate hosting account from your main one. Don't let them anywhere near your other stuff.
- < this. they need their own host - I wouldn't even want to give them access to only their dir. on my serverbulletfactory

and cut all ties and charge a kill fee if you can because that's not kosher.

Have you been paid in-full?
Is there a contract for additional payment if you have to change the 5%?
- Project is paid for but there is a monthly $600 retainer. Im not fussed about losing the RTnylon

I have let some clients do this - if they have regular backups and changes are minor to templates whats the problem? If their guy knows some HTML it will be fine.
Why would they have access to all your hosting account? Give them an account that only has access to their site.

Add another FTP user account, restricted to just their directory.
If this can't be done, then do as hans_glib advises and set them up with their own server space.

Unless of course you enjoy spending half your day doing piddly little changes that waste time and make little money.
- that's what retainers are fordoesnotexist
- sorry didn't realise he was on a retainer - didn't see it mentioned.fadein11

If you have other clients on your server space, you'll be trotting into a potential legal quagmire if you give a third party unrestricted access to that space.
If your client doesn't appreciate that, they're stupid.
