NASA: We will find aliens within 20 years
"What we didn't know five years ago is that perhaps 10 to 20 percent of stars around us have Earth-size planets in the habitable zone. It's within our grasp to pull off a discovery that will change the world forever,” said Matt Mountain, director and Webb telescope scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore.

... Ray Hyman on Utts findings ^
According to Hyman "the overwhelming amount of data generated by the viewers is vague, general, and way off target. The few apparent hits are just what we would expect if nothing other than reasonable guessing and subjective validation are operating."[5] Funding for the project was stopped after these reports were issued.

What a great debate! Just spend several minutes reading this and thoroughly enjoyed the discussion. Now, let me get back to looking at some pics of cats...

Peer reviewed experiments galore.
"Overall the evidence is consistent with von Neumann's proposal that consciousness is involved in the behavior of quantum systems."

You try to make it sound as if Radin's tests are widely respected when in fact plenty of people have raised questions about them and pointed out errors.
Here's a good example that pretty much tears him apart point by point:
http://www.csicop.org/si/show/wh…
Now have I personally pored through his studies and analyzed them point by point? No, and not only am I not going to waste time doing that, I won't pretend that I have the scientific expertise to make a qualified judgement - you shouldn't either.
A big difference between Deepak Chopra and Dawkins is that while they are both self promoters, Dawkins is actually a real scientist. Meanwhile Chopra is out there selling pseudoscience as medicine. He charges AIDS patients and other terminally ill people to treat them using the kind of psychic theories he and Radin advocate.

theoretical physics is theoretical. that means it's not proven.
theory is an instrument of science to project into the unknown. it's assumptions based on proven science and observation to try to explain things we don't understand yet but we wish to explore.
And science also allows for proven facts to be revised, whenever someone proves it's wrong by an experiment.Science is a methodical process, not a belief system.
- It should be, but it isn't.Morning_star
- The process of believing methods and theories, fo realzyurimon
- It's actually true Morningstar. Stop bein an idiot saying it isn't without any regard for the tomes of proof that it is.monospaced
- I'm bored of your general, surface level proclamations. You're wrong, you always are. When the surface is scratched and I try to engage in a detailed debate you run away like the shallow believer you are. Sit down and shut up.Morning_star
- and I try to engage in a detailed debate you run away like the shallow believer you are. Sit down and shut up child.Morning_star
- Really?monospaced
- If your first comment here isn't a "surface level" or "general" proclamation then I don't know what is. Child.monospaced
- I'm not wrong. If I'm wrong then so are all the astrophysicists, cosmologists and relativity theorists that have ever lived.monospaced
- You seem to be under the impression that all scientists working at the edges of discovery agree with each other's theories. They don't. At all.Morning_star
- other. They don't. Conflicting and competing theories are rife.Morning_star

Astronomers find star with three super-Earths
The four-planet system had been hiding out in the M-shaped, northern hemisphere constellation Cassiopeia, "just" 21 light years from Earth, a team reported in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.
It comprises four planets -- one giant and three super-Earths orbiting a star dubbed HD219134.

^ If you don't trust scientists, then why would you trust ONE guy with a psychology degree who claims he's discovered psychic powers?
All I'm saying, extend the same skepticism you feel towards the government and global warming to Dean Radin and the ancient aliens guy...then at least you'lll be consistent.
- Just a point that science can fall in the way of mirroring religion if one was inclined to use to controlyurimon
