...or maybe it's just avantgarde and I'm just to old for this.

Sorry to say, i only checked because of uan's criticism and.. he's totally right.
Not sure who you're aiming this reel at, but i can't see how it would inspire anyone.
It's incredibly slow and plodding, mournful and navel-gazing - I can't really see what value the very minor animation details add.
Also, the music and noise choices make me want to slap you.

too slow, I know you did those long shots to appreciate the typography work, but in a video you should show things faster.
I'd say to give up on this reel and do a scrolling page with large images of your work. A video reel won't work for it.

I watched it because detritus, watched it after reading uan's criticism,
and I have to say he's totally right, some projects look nice, but you don't see them really in the reel...and It's incredibly slow and plodding, mournful and navel-gazing.predicting foutycalypse in 4,3, 2, ...

I do like your works, it looks good and I think that I do get what you were going for.
But you have to make it fucking snappier if you don’t want future clients / employers to instantly jump out of the window. Also check if it has to be »thoughtfully designed by...« at the end

Why are you animating your print work?

I like the idea of a type showreel. It's certainly a lot better than showcasing something static.
If I were to give comments on yours, I'd say it's just too slow, too long. Perhaps, this is because you don't have a lot of work to fill up the time. Maybe use a different audio track (something not so sleepy). You can use the same amount of projects, but perhaps use more cuts (maybe it scales in slow motion, then cuts quickly to a close up of the letters). I'd even go as fast as changing the pace across screens (maybe some things move slowly, then it's a cut of something moving much faster). I would have a screen up for more than a few seconds.
Get rid of the dark vignette effect (looks cheesy), and simply go with darkening to straight black instead.
Cut about 45 seconds off of the entire thing too.
Unlike some of the folks above, I really like how you're animating some of the type. I like how some screens are static but slowly scaling up but some type is animated (shows how this could be used in other applications other than static design). I'd take it a step further and have a few pieces of type animated even more (like a letter by letter reveal or something).

Just make a website and put photographs of the work on it.
The animation adds nothing.
Also at the end there's a typo:
"thoughtful designed by..."kind of ironic as typos show a lack of thoughtfulness

What does it add to have the period bounce left and right on a spread, over, and over again? Pong and Dylan? What does that even mean? It certainly isn't related to the content, and it certainly has nothing to do with print. I just don't "get" it.

- I'm coming at this from a pure creative point of view. It shouldn't be kicking, it's constructivemonospaced
