Wordpress multiple content areas

I am working on a new wordpress site for a client, and the design requires multiple content areas on one page. e.g slideshow, three boxes of text etc
Just thought I would ask how most people are building this in wordpress these days. Do you use plugins? if so what works well?

There are numerous ways but if you are not that technical the secondary HTML content plugin will work for you:

I know there are lots of plugins available, and I have used a few in the past. It would be good to get recommendations on how everyone finds is the best way to build multiple content areas on each wordpress page.

Actually what you need (boxes etc.) the above may not be the best option. This may be better:

I use Page.ly Multiedit for some themes for a quick job, but really you should look at custom post taxonomies and custom fields, that way there'll be no need for plugins.
