there's a number reasons why I use it. For me, I've used it as a means to scope out potential freelancers, as an RSS/news feed, and pretty damn near real time tech support/creative feedback (giving and receiving)
the mograph peeps i follow post up WIPs, links and inspirations, tutorials & other helpful resources so I find it pretty invaluable. Keep a high signal to noise ratio, follow those who share your interests and some may reciprocate and followback.
if nothing else, there's a weekly twitter chat focused on motion design called #mochat. check the archives for some huge drops of golden knowledge

Over the past few days I've gotten about 6 r/t tweets and a few favorites. It definitely picks up depending on how often you use it and the interest in your articles of others (did that sentence make sense?) I use it mostly to bookmark my fave sites and articles I've read that I've found fruitful > field related.
I've searched for jobs on there and have gotten "lucky"
"Twitter’s interface may look simple, but it is not, and its complexity has turned off many people who tried the service. "
- basic "how to use twitter" stuff. when you use it people will interact with you.doesnotexist

I use it, but mainly to follow some really funny people. I check in the am with a cup of coffee and am constantly amused by:
@Bill Murray
@RobDelaney
@NeilTyson
@DadBoner
@JimGaffiganTo name a few.

I'm really curious what @CallesDonkey has to say.

My boss uses twitter and has thousands of followers.
But all he does is re-tweet from nytimes and famous liberals and then "funny things" he notices in his day to day.
It's all professional and proper grammar, but it's like a lame diary.
I don't know what I'm not "getting".

why doesn't QBN tweet everyone's comments and broadcasts? that could make their account more interesting.

You might want to avoid admitting to people the following:
• you used twitter a few times then gave up
• you don't "get" twitter
• you think twitter is "all just people tweeting about their lunch"I mean, it's fine if that's how you feel. Nobody really cares. But, when you say this around people who use Twitter (especially in a work environment) you sound like someone's old grandmother who doesn't understand why people text or use Facebook. You know, it could hurt your chances of getting promoted or listened to on other issues or whatever.
That's my opinion, anyway.

Are you not cool if you are following a greater # of people than the # that follow you?

I understand reading others' feeds is helpful and educational, but tweeting yourself isn't helpful 99% of the time if you're nobody.

Which is the best site for networking, IG, Linkedin, FB or Twitter? Or are they all good for different times?
