best print scanner(s) 2013

I've seen some of the best Linotype-Hell scanners from the old dayz with scuzzy connects for sale, but in terms of scanners available right now for print quality, what do you all think is best under $1k? Primarily for archival, line art goodness, but some grey/4c scans as well? Any info much appreciated.
