"yeah, i do mind, actually..."
have you tried that?

An idea is about as valuable as a fart in the wind. Having an idea doesn't give you rights to an instantiation of it. "I thought if it first" means crap.
- actually... patent trolls do just that, and it means a lot more than crapmonospaced

I stay up nights worrying that someone is stealing Chris Darmon's dunk ideas.

Have suddenly decided to make a thread about people stealing my ideas.
Hope you don't mind.

professionals will always have more ideas, why even care?
- scarabin0
follow through and do your ideas or someone else will!

You're doing it wrong... stop telling people ya ideas. Simples.

Amateurs borrow, professionals steal.

Depends on how the ideas were borrowed. Producers or Project Managers will often tell you one thing and swan into the management meetings and pitch the ideas and forget about you.
It's their job and they have to. If you don't go to the meetings you get forgotten about.
Best thing is to say i have this idea, if it's OK, can i go and have a think about it and pitch it back to the group later. Find ways around getting cut out the loop.

Used to happen to me all the time, and the worst was when people would tell me about their idea which was the idea I'd have given them a week ago... or when I'd give an idea, the project they were working on wouldn't use it, I would later use that same idea and they'd get mad....
Now I zip it, keep my ideas to myself, and avoid a lot of annoyance.
- < this, really pissed me off, sadly it happens more than ever in this cunty fieldGeorgesIV

I've had two separate instances of ideas 'borrowed' by people I know in as many weeks. They were both followed by messages with the phrase 'hope you don't mind!'.
I always thought that I would feel flattered if I this situation occurred but I feel more annoyed than anything else.
They're fairly minor infractions, but has anyone else here had anything similar happen? How do you deal with it if you know the person?
