Greetings. I've been working on switching my photography site to a new WP theme over the past week, to display larger images vertically, and move away from a click-through style photo gallery. Looking for some general feedback on image size and usability only (not design, colors, etc.). This theme is from Graph Paper Press (great themes, been using them for a couple years).

    Here are some thoughts:
Images display up to 1600px in width.
Depending on your browser size, you can probably get the full 1600 on a large monitor.

I've found that the average image size is around 1.2mb in size. There's not a ton of overall decrease in image size if I decrease size to 1280px wide.

Right now, the content area displays at 90% of the screen width on any device. I've played around with a max-width of 1280px to avoid images from getting too large. If I switch to this, then the only real noticeable change is increased margins when browser exceeds that max width. If shorter than 1280, then images stop at edge of browser.

I think one of the themes I've used in the past automatically served images at different sizes depending on screen size. I might see about adding that in (need to ask their support forum). That would be nice to avoid loading 1600px wide images to mobile or tablet.

Anyhow, really just wondering if anyone has thoughts on these things. I like the ability to have larger images; I'd be fine going down to 1280px width if it meant: 1)file size is lowered a little bit, and 2) it helps ensure that for the most part a full single image is viewable at once.

I'm still adjusting some things - like the Info page. I previously had two column text but it doesn't work with this theme. I might make that page a fixed width so the text isn't so wide.

Why the distracting maroon for the type?
Why the ugly canvas texture background?
Why such large type over the photos on the home?
    Why cheesy Iceland Graff?
Why do the photos have to have a fake shadow and border?
Why are the photos so big that they don't fit on my screen?

Needs more white. Can't see the photos.
