Yeah that's what I was thinking. These were the things that got me looking into this sort of thing:

The Samsung looks ok. Obviously the Pixel is a right-royal-rip-off, even though it looks quite nice.
- I still can't figure out why the pixel a) needs that much power, and b) costs so damn muchmonospaced

If you only need it for the Internet and a proper keyboard I'd get a chromebook for 200 quid

my gf bought a cheap hp netbook last year. it's served it's purpose, and like you say, easy to carry around. limited in terms of screensize, obviously, and software (for instance office is a "light" version).
- she probably uses her samsung galaxy more now than she uses the netbook.sine
- here's the thread when i was helping her buy: http://www.qbn.com/t…sine
- The solar panel is a cool ideaRaniator
- yeah, almost got that one, but decided on the more proven one.sine

Alright?
You know those netbook/Chromebook/small laptop things you can get these days – are they any good?
I quite fancy something with a proper keyboard that is portable that I can chuck in a messenger back that doesn't cost the earth.
I'm an Apple fan but blowing £1000+ on an Air or 13" MacBook is a little out of my budget these days so I don't mind sacrificing OS X if I'm only really using it for internet and basic document creation/editing.
What do you peeps say? Anyone got one?
