Working on a system status page for a client that will report the standard server uptime, health of system, average response times, backups, etc. Looking for a lightweight "CMS" for updating the page. Here are some ideals and requirements:
1. Ideally won't require a DB, instead working maybe with flat files.
2. Simple interface allowing multiple people to update content.
3. Page will include a feed — a list of active issues related to the service and how it might affect users. Ideally this feed will be archivable.
4. PHP preferable.Anyone have suggestions on a lightweight CMS that might cover all of these checkpoints? I'm half expecting we'll be updating this manually, but I'd love to be able to offer a simple interface that archives posts.
Appreciate any suggestions you might have!

wait... you want the CMS to update the status / health / response times page? would you not want that stuff scripted automatically?
otherwise, a CMS to update the flat about, faq, contact & news pages makes sense, but you probably don't want to have somebody typing in data like response times, backups, uptime,etc... that stuff is probably best scripted automatically, especially as somebody may forget, and a client freaks out, or worse somebody has a typo and client really freaks out...
- Not if it's a fake HoS page whic his client will use to convince his clients of his site's 99.999% uptime...detritus

Sorry, not updating the System Health data or or status. The page will include a feed with notifications on possible system issues, who it's affecting, and how long until it's fixed. Similar to Twitter's status page:

For the actual status reporting we'll be plugging into our CDN’s API. That stuff is automatically updated.

Not PHP but I'm loving jekyll (Ruby)
Use it on all my "static" sites these days.
Ruby fans also check out Octopress...

pulse bump
i had a quick look at this as i might have need for something similar, an easy way for clients to update the odd bit of text.
am i right in thinking it shows each section of text separately or is there a way for the whole page to be displayed and editable at one go?
- and does it work with pure html or does it need php?hans_glib
- Each section to answer your question. Sections are called "blocks" in Pulse.TheBlueOne
- And yes, needs PHP.ETM
