Am doing 3 TVC's and been advised my animation is a bit stale.
Definitely a novice, and have been using an elastic expression + rotations to form lockups I was given in Illustrator.
I've got a day to finish 3 TVC's with at least 4 lockups in each one.
If anyone can advise plugins, expressions or anything else to make the resolutions a bit more interesting, that'd be grand.
Client wants flips, springs and swinging elements, I don't have time, so flat animations would be best.
(I have purchased ease and wizz, it doesn't work on CS6)
Any advice, examples, scripts would be really appreciated.

should be pretty easy to 3d layer it up, and have the stuff build together.. chuck in some particles and a light. 3 tvcs in a day is a piss take tho

http://aescripts.com/pt_autoexpr… can help speed up things

1 day for 3 TVC's with dynamic and interesting animation is a ridiculous request and any producer would know this.
Can you show us an image and we could maybe suggest a quick way to animate some elements... email me if you like and I will obviously keep it confidential etc.
- chossy to the rescue, and not the first time. +100meffid

1 day for 3 is ridiculous deadline for quality work even from a seasoned AE user. From a notice they'd be damn lucky to even get 1.
Can we get an idea of the style your going for so we can suggest stuff?

^agree with chossy and animatedgif
not enough time, particularly if he wants smooth organic tweens like described. In my small commercial motion experience manually tweening stuff to look smooth takes some time. I'd love to know anything that can speed up this process.
- Ease and Whiz is the only real trick to getting it done good enough and fastanimatedgif
- It's a she.meffid
- Thanks for cleaning that up.

He's already started them so not strictly one day.

sounds like a job for Newton
...but it'll take you a day to get your head around it.

There are some presets that are quick.
Window > Effects & Presets > Animation Presets > Text > 3D Text
and also Transitions - Movement.
They are pretty cheesy looking, admittedly. But drag and drop on your layer.

this may help

Now this is getting frustrating.
Pre comping, continuous raterisation and where to place the lights to maintain cast shadows options.
Any tips for this would be lovely.

Layer styles.... wow. Just wow.

I wouldn't worry too much about lights at this point. It looks like you are new to AE, I think lights are tricky and if not done properly it could ruin the animation.
When I first started playing with AE, I remember I would position all my elements in 3d space, precomp the scene, and bring it to a new comp, where I would put a camera layer, then click the 3d cube and the continuos raster options on the precomped scene layer, and rotate/ move around the camera.
Somehow that seemed easier to me than moving the camera on the scene. It was a start! No lights, maybe gradients on layers instead.

- Cameras are much easier when controlled within parented nullsanimatedgif
- animatedgif x 1000
moving cameras are really awkward, parent them to a null and move that shizzHombre_Lobo - and also agree with mig! much easier that wayHombre_Lobo

Thanks ^
Very helpful. Good advice.

AfterFX CS6 - Latest update (not CC)
The window / panel is a little bit see through when opened from a finder window. Does this happen to anyone else?
- technosoul0
there's a lot of great free presets, you can modify here, once your register. Not sure if there are any motion related though...
