Taking my gf away next weekend and the options are either Brussels or Lille.
What does QBN think? Where is the better option for the weekend?
I was leaning towards Lille because of the flea market, but apparently that is only really on during the summer.
All suggestions on things to do are welcome. I may entirely base my decision on the option with the most votes.

Brussels is a fun, dynamic city. Fantastic cafés, charming neighbourhoods, grand architecture (a lot of which is Art Deco).
My absolutely favourite place in that city is Le Centre belge de la bande déssinée (aka: The Belgian Comic Strip Centre). It's a museum/gallery for Belgian, Franco-Belgian and French comic books. I go absolutely every time I visit Brussels:

Love, love, love.

Thanks Continuity.
Do you recommend getting the Brussels Card? Or is it better to just explore and find your own places?

Well, I'd say make up your own mind on that one. If the plan is to visit museums, then totally get it. Otherwise, I'd say skip it and get a public transport day pass instead.
- Yeah I hear you - I think I'm going to check out http://www.spottedby… for all things to visitvuc

Also, Brussels city centre is remarkably compact, even though there's lots to see/experience, so walking around isn't unrealistic.

I booked Brussels. Time to prepare the suit-case for a mass export of Chocolate.

have fun man, but in Belgium there's at least three nicer places than Brussels...

I've been to Brussels about 6 years ago but it was to watch a football game - so I didn't really get to explore the place that much.
I have always wanted to go to Bruges though. I guess I could get a train up there from Brussels. Will see.

not a fan of brussels but anytime i have been there it was work related or changing from trains to other parts of europe.
I've tried hard to figure it out but gave up after 5 or so visits.
some great beers though.
