Noisy Studio, Best Headphones?

I work at a lovely agency, but the open work environment lends itself to some noisy distractions that make it difficult to concentrate and focus my creativity. So, I need new headphones!
I had a pair of Klipsch, and they were really great sounding, but after a while they hurt my ears (glasses).
Can anyone recommend a pair of high-end headphones (under $200) that go over your ears (like the ones from elementary school), provide a good sound and block out the noise?

I also work around a lot of loud loads. I love my Audio Technica. If you were considering Beats by Dre at all, you MUST watch this.
- I've kinda always felt that way about beats.YetiMade

Over a year of use and couldnt be happier with the B&W P5. Style, good quality sound, amazingly comfortable and nice isolation.
http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/He…- the P5s are awesome. I have the P3s which are also real nice. Not the best for isolation though.Nathan_Adams
- I 2nd those, they are awesome. Not sure what they cost in $$ though as I got mine over here in the UK. Sound beautiful.Wolfboy

Wow these AT's look really great; now I'm curious how they sound.

Get a pair you won't mind taking off a lot. Because the moment you try listening to music everyone will want to talk to you.

1. look for isolation, either enclosed canisters of in-ear type headphones.
2. look for electronic noise-cancellation. That way you don't need to up the volume so much to block out ambient noise like your co-worker on his phone.
3. Think about other people too. Open-backed headphones sound great, and the whole office gets to hear the treble! This goes for the old-style ipod/sony earbud headphones as well. Enclosing the sound of your music means others can enjoy their music (or silence) as well.

I don't care what anyway says but the open layout usually means "oh sorry, we are cheap and lazy — isn't this really hip and cool?!".

"The researchers taped 29 hours of people working in a typical office, and found that they were interrupted on average four times each hour. Here’s the kicker – 40% of the time, the person did not resume the task they were working on before the interruption. The more complex the task, the less likely the person was to resume working on it after an interruption.”

^ combine that with the fact that it takes something like 20mins to really settle into some work, and you've got a recipe for _amazing productivity gains!_
//sarcI think the open office idea is: a. increase density, and b. you can't goof-off while everyone else can see your screen, but you also can't focus very well with a ton of distractions around... so are your employees really meeting their potential?
the fact that everyone requires headphones is a signal that something is not working... also, this concept of "bring your own device" is fucking cheap. //rant

Working in an open environment makes it really tough to concentrate, especially with those interruptions every 20 mins or so. I can imagine that working in a closed office is really great, but I wonder if there's a way that we can develop more of a culture that appreciates the importance of silence, deep thought and uninterrupted production...
