@hans_glib how much time would actually be involved?
(Say for one page 4 color with transparencies and images.)

Also, EPS files will be at least 2/3rds bigger than necessary, probably larger with the outlined copy. Sure you can zip that up for transmission, but the added file size can be used in your argument.
- not if you do it rightmonospaced
- Yes, that simple. Just do it "right."

tell them where to stick their pdfs and use a printer who knows what they're doing.
we had the same problem, but when explained to the client what was involved, told them we'd bill them for conversion and transmission time, miraculously they found they could use pdfs after all.

China better get 'Adobe-centric'. Given it's the tool of choice for the western world.

Converting a manual worth of copy to outlines is asking for trouble.

I've had to deal with the same issues when printing in china. Client ended up finding a printer who could deal with PDFs. I quoted how much it would cost to convert all the files to eps (they wanted outlined fonts, too!). not worth the hassle. there are printers in china that can deal with PDfs.
- thanks Gnash- I was kinda feeling that was the issuealicetheblue

Client wants all files in eps for QUOTING in China.
This includes product manual, stickers, posters for packaging. etc.Client is dealing with middle man in Asia - who won't accept pdfs even for quoting.
Calls me Adobe-centric.
(I believe he still uses Letraset rubdowns ;)Anyway I don't know how to fight this battle. Any advice or articles would be appreciated.
(I have found some on InDesign Secrets and Adobe Forums)
