I was lucky enough to see him perform when I was in high school and in the jazz band. Sad to see this great one depart us.

Spent my first year in college listening to Brubeck while drinking cheap red wine and doing all my art/design projects. I remember being invited to the Pollock retrospective premiere party at the Momo and Brubeck was playing everywhere. Take Five will forever hold a deep emotional connection for me, especially Blue Rondo A La Turk -

Just yesterday I was talking to a guy who had take lessons from Joe Morello, who was the drummer with Brubeck for many years.
I find that weird that just after having that conversation, Brubeck died.

What a legend.
Still love playing his pieces on the piano.
It amazes me that people still don't write more in time signatures outside of 4/4.Love Unsquare Dance in 7/4
And Blue Rhondo a la turk in 9/8
