  For boring jobs, airlines, trains, and 24hr stores, hospitals, what happens at midnight?

  I've always been at a party or bar, so everyone pays attention.

  But hundreds of thousands or millions of people are just sitting on planes, working a hotel counter, security or in a pharmacy store at 12:00? Do people shop at that time? Do they know?

  i worked new years eve on a grave yard shift at a gas station in my early 20s. All by myself behind the counter when the clock struck midnight. i stole a chocolate bar and ate it. it was a low point in my life.
