I'm wanting to adjust the kerning on a font so that it is by default a little tighter... and I'd like to adjust each character individually. I'm new to this so I have limited understanding about what I'm getting into and would like some advice.
Using fontographer I can bring in the width on the right hand side of the letter to get the effect I want... but should I be setting the kerning somewhere else?
Basically I want the font to appear by default as if I've kerned it in a value of -40.
I've tried google but I'm coming up against information overload. Just a push in the right direction is all i need.
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you just kern it to -40 and call it a day?
- because he's designing a typeface, not just setting typemonospaced

- yes, a font, that he's designing "using fontographer." not setting type; I'm not an idiotmonospaced

Adjust your kerning pairs in the kerning table?
