England is awesome obviously, but if you are coming here try and do it in the summer. The weather is bad at the best of times, but you'll enjoy London (for example) at lot more during the summer months.
- Summer = months? Good one!Fax_Benson
- that's crap. London is shit in the summer. Hot stuffy smelly and full of foreigners. much better in spring/autumnhans_glib

If it's soon Id fly to London because its the cheapest route from the states. few days there, maybe venture out to the new forest or something. Then get the Eurostar to paris and spend a few days there. Fly to Florence from Paris and then get the train down to Rome. Rome to Madrid then back to the states from there.
If youre here in summer, hit Ibiza or south of france too
- Ibiza is so done. Croatia (Havr Island) is where it's at!goldieboy

When are you thinking? I'd keep to the major cities and when you decide which cities come back here for a list of the cool things to do in each...
London
Paris
Amsterdam
Berlin
Rome
Barcelona

I heard Greece is pretty cheap right now...

Maybe, the best thing to visit europe in a short time is to from the north to the south (or the other way around).
something like this:
- rome
- zürich
- hamburg
- kopenhagen
and in all those cities: within a half an hour, you are in the country-side (do this).

Go to the Crazy Horse when you visit Paris. I liked it very much. You don't have to sit in the front row (like I did). The club is very small and you can enjoy the show very well on the cheaper seats, too.

Fuck Berlin, its poor and dirty. Better go to Hamburg or Munich if you want to visit Germany

i usually end up booking with orbitz. even though i check with expedia also. its good to hunt a little bit if you want lowest price.
there's trains and/or cheap:er air with in eu that you can book. easyjet.com is one of them. there's more. note. some of them use air ports far from the city. so it could cost more to go from and to there.
wednesday is usually deals on hotels. if you not get groupon, jetsetter, hotels.com, etc. emails already.

its important to know that Paris and London mainly have shit weather all year round except maybe in Summer.
Spain and Italy have way better climate and are probably a bit cheaper.

Amsterdamn ... anywhere really
if you're in Paris use the subway
- +1 for Paris subway. Never, ever try to catch a plane or train with a Taxi in Paris. God, I hate that tunnel.riskunlogic

Barcelona, Florence and Rome were all fantastic in my opinion. Switzerland is gorgeous too. Definitely plan it yourself, and my advice, don't overschedule. I was 'planning' on being in Barcelona for 4 days, ended up staying 2 weeks. Best time I've ever had. If you find a place you like, stay and pretend like you live there.

- Would LOVE to but wifey wants Paris, Rome, etc.. first
OSFA - Yeha Berlin is amazing. Would be my first choice if I were you but not the best for romance
ShaneHolley - berlin is romantic.. in a dirty squat turned gentrified kind of way..autoflavour

Do yourself a favour and avoid the touristy places. I am not talking about the bigger cities here but the small towns and villages in the countryside. If a village is reknown for being a tourist attraction (i.e. it appears in your tourist guide) stay the fuck out. You’ll find all flair is gone and all that is left are noisy pedestrian areas with dozens of shops all selling the same cheap trash. The trick is to stay in one of the villages nearby wich will be equally beautiful but not overcrowded.
Also, Europe might seem relatively small seen from the US but there is no way you can rush through... I planned a trip through Spain AND Portugal once on the map and found myself spending more time on buses and trains hopping from city to city than actually enjoying the places... concentrate on one or two regions. Paris and then south of Frace or the France Alps sounds great btw- Yes, don't plan an "european trip" unless you'll be staying 3 months.ORAZAL
