I've been 960gs, Cssgrid.net, etc to give my sites a consistent vertical grid.
What are your recommendations for introducing horizontal grids to inform line height and such?

I like to use a baseline grid. Anything more than that can get a little tricky when you go responsive. Using the baseline to measure spacing helps keep a nice horizontal rhythm - not to mention it keeps your type nice and tidy.

You're fucking up the terms here...960gs gives you HORIZONTAL (side to side) grid.
VERTICAL grid would be line heights...For VERTICAL type grids, try this: http://www.pearsonified.com/typo…
You feed it a HORIZONTAL size (like 960px or some division of...) then it spits out proper font sizes and line heights.
Horizontal = Width
Vertical = HeightMight want to remember that one.
- You're totally right. My bad. A 14 hour day will do that to me.e-wo
