Does anyone definitively know if the browser, or the computer, renders printing and print preview?
Ran into a problem with fonts.com fonts not printing when they're in both the web and print.css document. Looked at numerous high end sites with custom web fonts and they all don't print either.
I'm guessing that printing from the browser is rendered by the computer, and if fonts don't exist, they won't print and it will use the next font listed in the CSS.
Any ideas?

Nope. You can't print web fonts as far as I know

Just printed a client's homepage, it worked fine but I can't tell if it's because I have the fonts installed. I used the print page function in chrome btw.
Articles I've read say it can't happen unless the file is hosted locally, but the name of the font in the css differs from that in my fonts folder so I'm at a loss.
If you want to give me one of your links, I'll try it too and report back.

looks like it varies per browser.
from typekit...
Printing a web page that uses Typekit is permissible provided the printing is for personal use only. For example, your users may print a page to read it later. However, not all browsers or operating systems support printing with web fonts. If you print a page from a browser or operating system that does not support printing with web fonts, the page will print with the fallback fonts specified in your font stack.

Thanks albums. This is on a client's test site, so I unfortunately can't share it.
I've been looking at a variety of pages for web font providers. Take a look at http://webfonts.info/faqs and do Print>Preview in the browser.
In IE the custom fonts render correctly.
In FF, they do not.
In Chrome, it looks like ass.
