UFO OVER BERLIN, 12.55am, 02.10.12
I was just walking back from my studio when i noticed what i thought was sky lanterns.
except when i noticed that it passed thru a cloud and lit up the whole cloud around it.I pulled out my phone to film it. Then after i noticed a 3rd one, moving considerably faster than the first 2 come along the same path.
that is when i noticed there was 4 or 5 others behind it.
unfortunately my iphone is out of space most of the time, so the gaps are where i was quickly trying to find stuff to delete in my photo library so i could keep filming.
the last one moved the fastest, as seen in the last clip.. but my phone was full again by then and i did get the end of it.
they were completely silent, except for the last one, just before it disappeared from view, i heard what sounded like a jet engine revving up, but it was really quiet .. not muffled, just much lower volume.
My camera filmed this stuff upside down for some reason, but they were traveling in a North West direction.
i was not under the influence of any drug or alcohol at the time.

imho, anything smart enough to cross the gulfs of space would be smart enough to either a) hide themselves b) scare the shit out of an entire planet.
I saw a UFO when I was about 6 or so, over the local town, and it was in the papers the next day, so I'm by no means a non-believer by default...
...I just suspect there are mundane explantions for a lot o these things.
Especially as I've had in mind at least two different set ups to give the appearance of UFOs... I need to get working on one at least :)
Hope you 'enjoyed' your experience — it's always good to have something, no matter what, totally confuddle you.
- Your a/b scenario rationale makes no sense. Certainly not enough to debunk aliens. How on earth would we know their motives...set
- ...know their motives, or if they want to be seen or not. Placing human ideas on to something like this seems naiveset
- Although granted its difficult to have anything but human ideas. It just bugs me when people say things like this...set
- Oh shut up set.detritus
- We literally have no reference point at all for anything they may or may not, would or would not do or be.set
- You sounded like a cock, admit it.set
- Can we go back to ignoring each other please?detritus
- I can't help but point out a dim comment, especially on such a subject. :-)set
- I didn't want to out that smiley face there as it now looks smarmy, but I also didn't want to come across completely unfriendly.set
- ...completely unfriendly. Not that you care.set
- not that I care if you careset
- Not that I care if you think I careset

Cool. My first rebut would be that, considering how they were following each other, speed and heading the same, that they were military aircraft with afterburners glowing. Atmospheric winds, directions of travel etc could easily mean you wouldn't hear a thing if they were 10 miles away, and 4/5 miles up. Their trajectories certainly didn't appear to deviate in a way that a terrestrial object could maneuver. Exciting thing to see though.
- we live about 6km from Tegal airport, and we definitely hear pretty much every plane.. these were silent..autoflavour
- and they didnt seem that high..autoflavour
- they looked to be about the size of a round bit on a cloths pin..autoflavour
- or maybe just all being blown by the same wind/currentBaskerviIle
- How do you know how a terrestrial object should maneuver? LOL. Based on what you've seen in movies?CanHasQBN

Erm, nice sky lanterns!
Firstly, look at the end of this footage of sky lanterns being sent up, it looks identical to yours:
Secondly, why might people be sending up sky lanterns on the evening of the 1st of October?
turns out 1st of october is the National Day of the People's Republic of China:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nat…And what is a tradition on that day?

Hmm, fireworks, and presumably lanterns!
- < you work for them!moldero
- i hope so..
will make it easier to sleep tonightautoflavour - although, it was on the 2nd.. and the chinese population is pretty small in Berlin, relatively speakingautoflavour
- also.. we are in Berlin, not in mainland china.. no fireworks displays today.. and not at 1amautoflavour
- the speed that the 3rd one is moving, that is what makes me think it isnt a lantern..autoflavour
- autoflavour0
perhaps Baskerville.. although i know what lanterns look like.. i seen them floating above music festivals enough to know what they look like..
but i have never seen any move that fast.. and cover that sort of distance..
also, its dead still outside.. no wind at all.. granted i have no idea whats happening above me, but the clouds werent in a hurry either..
whatever.. i hope you are right.. last thing i need is to be a nutter who has seen UFO's
- < NUTTERdetritus
- yep.. i knew i shouldnt have uploaded this.autoflavour
- autoflavour0
its the 3rd one which freaks me out the most.. its moving way faster than a lantern would.. and if it was moving that fast, the wind alone would blow it out

I saw something very similar last week above my house, but these fuckers were moving in various formation and then all over the place. From one part of the sky to the other. I was like what the fuck... Was not a plane(s), helicopter, lanterns, stars, satellites, shooting starts, comets, etc... Whatever the fuck they were... I mean... I never seen anything move miles apart in the sky in milliseconds. I told my mom the next day, she laughed at me. Then the following day she said that her co-works seen the same lights the following night, and wanted to know what I seen the night before, I said this shit ain't funny no more is it.....
Anyway, some crazy NASA footage here!
