^ I find all current games and consoles not mentally challenging for adult gamers.
It seemed that the old nes games were infinitely more difficult ie no saves, no health meter no room for error.

I buy every Nintendo just to beat the new platform Mario. Picked up a Wii U a few weeks ago for my lady for Xmas. Unfortunately, I have to wait until then to beat Super Mario Bros U. /sigh
I will admit that Nintendo sucks when it comes to new games. On the upside, I like downloading and beating all of my favorites/classics: Breath of Fire, FF2, FF3, FFTactics, Secret of Mana, Zeldas, etc etc. I like Wii, but can fully admit that it's one of the worst gaming system out there for adult gamers (that aren't mentally challenged).

I do have to say Nintendo has awesome 1st party title but they take so much time to deliver them, that was my gripe on the Gamecube, the only games that to me were worth of my money are the ones from Nintendo.

My last Nintendo was the Gamecube, bought it to play Zelda Wind Waker, such a great game. But then the 360 came out in 2005 and I sticked with that ever since. Never got the Wii even though there are some games of it that I'd like to play.
I'm going to skip this one too, I'm looking forward to the NEXTBOX or whatever it's called.

Im with ETM. I was a diehard Nintendo fan since '85. Hunted down a wii after visiting like 8 stores on launch day, was happy and had fun for the first few months, but all these little niggling things started stacking up:
- the lack of nice HD
- the constant battery changing
- the cumbersome store
- the fucking nunchuck style controls
- etc etc.I finally got a PS3 a couple years after and was blown away at the graphics difference. I gotta say, as fun as a game is, it does make a difference when you have 2 systems side by side and one looks awesome and the controller is easier to hold, and all that.
I was dissilusioned with Nintendo, but bought a 3DS for my kid and its much of the same. Cheap gimmicky shit, poorly designed hardware, and an 'online store' that boasts maybe 3-4 good games, the rest being garbage. The 3DS was really the nail in the coffin for me.
Nintendo makes toys, thats it. Sad to admit it cuz i grew up loving them my whole life.. like over 20 years of having their back..

i played one today at my local fence, pretty cool. i like the way the new controller is going to open up more possibilities to interact with games. it's innovative and stuff.

I just remember being pumped about the Wii, struggling to get one during the shortages, then being on an endless downward slope of disappointment with virtually everything but maybe 5-6 games.
To the point I just disconnected it and shoved it in a drawer rather than have it clutter the entertainment area.Don't plan on doing that a second time. Don't plan on trying to find the tiniest fleck of gold amongst the shelves of shovel-ware either.
I do hope they can change my mind over time, but I doubt it.

I read somewhere that Sony has a similar thing coming w the psp / ps3 combo controller or something like that. I still don't understand how it works, wouldn't it be hard to have to look at 2 screens so far apart to play a game?
I can see it being fun to play a 2 player game w a buddy on the same couch, if both see their own screen, but then why would you need the tv?
