Oh, it's also been interesting to see their fans change over time... I haven't seen them live since about 1999-2000... the fans were always great and respectful. But the videos I see from the gathering has people throwing rocks and shit at people performing, which doesn't seem to be at all in line with what I remember. That's shitty and sad :/

it isn't hard to capitalise on idiocy. look at the fucking Kardashians. better yet GOP. it may seem intelligent at the time, but it's very short-sighted.

I flicked through the video.
Seemed like a bunch of dumb-ass fatties in a field taking drugs and being stupid.
It's easy to capitalise on dumb-ass fatties. Look at Walmart, McDonalds, Starbucks ad-infinitum.
Maybe I missed something by flicking through the video.

what will all these kids do when there are no blockbuster stores left to work at?

So to "capitalize" on "stupid" people makes you stupid? I mean, then WalMart, McDonalds, etc are all stupid business people? If that's your argument then having a discussion is useless and I think perhaps you should invest some time in some business classes... although I tend to think most designers should do that as well :)

@jfletcher - i never said "stupid". when i said 'capitalize' I mean it in a 'take advantage' sense. you (seem to) measure intelligence in money, ego and selfishness, while i measure it in decency and altruism. some people choose to exploit people's worst, others try and contribute to society as a whole.
maybe the reason we "aren't pulling in millions" is because some of us haven't sold our souls yet. besides, what the FUCK do you need millions for?

You're correct, I just sort of take "stupid" since it's how most people refer to them.
I find intelligence can be measured in all types of ways. The least useful of which [to me] is a written test, or an SAT. I guess I don't see ICP capitalizing on stupid people. Rather I see they grew up in similar situations as most of their fans and now have an outlet to discuss that. I think they're great for the kids most people label as "rejects". I can certainly identify with a lot of what they say in their more serious songs... which are a bit few and far between, but those are the best ones!
As for measuring intelligence in decency and altruism, that can also be fairly objective. The type of stuff ICP tries to provide is an outlet for these kids who don't feel like they have a great "family", however they may define that, or the kids at school who were bullied or picked on - this was me, being an art kid :) They try in their best way to provide some guidance to them and let them know their are plenty of others out there. I guess it's similar to Manson, who I also tend to think of as really smart and providing a very different lens on a lot of subjects.
I also see them as some of the least ego and selfish driven people in interviews, articles, and seeing videos of them hanging out with fans. I tend to think of people on MTV as much more ego driven.
