I for one welcome our new German overlords.
They are a country that run their clubs, leagues and national team, in a way that makes it a truly beautiful game. Fan ownership, cheap tickets, safe standing in the stadia, teams that are good to watch and so on.
It makes our disgusting, bloated set up in England look ridiculous.
- Indeed, although Bayern are a slight exception.Fax_Benson
- For sure. The English Premier League is an unsustainable jokeIanbolton

- @Fax yeah, as I understand there are a few legal acceptions where companies have a traditional stake in a club. Isn't Wolfsburg connected to VW?Wolfboy
- ...Wolfsburg connected to VW?Wolfboy
- EVERYTHING in and around Wolfsburg is connected to VWpressplay
- The bars that hold the fans in are a little much, but other than that, GERMAN QUALITY.stoplying

Wolfboy - yeah, clubs have to have a minimum 50% club member ownership + the deciding vote. The remainder can be owned by private investors - usually local big businesses (who invariably employ large numbers of fans).
Interesting fact and figures re Bayern's relative wealth - and German football's financial structure in general. Clubs have to submit a balance sheet pre-season in order to gain a licence to operate. It's almost as if common sense has been applied to whole system, and greed isn't the principle factor. It'll never catch on in England.

too bad for Dortmund, they lost but they can keep their heads high...

Bayern broke almost every record this season (also their own), winning the CL would be the last drop for the most successful season ever! As a Munich boy, I am so very excited, although I don't care about football at all..
