  Chaps, do you normally print locally or you go for cheaper offshore locations? Anybody working with large volumes?

  The printing industry in Spain is reasonably cheap in comparison to UK, let's say. While I worked in the states I printed partially in Mexico and some products in Argentina.

  Anybody with experience in suppliers in the Eastern region?

  depends on what you're printing... can get a good price and nice paper from china... other things are good from israel.

  Christie's catalog is printed in india. depends on volume.

  Takes time for proofs etc. if coming from a foreign country. I would measure time of over all project to due date, and volume. then compare the difference.

  Lots of offshore printing is getting done in Poland and Slovakia, I can ask around if needed.
