Corporate tools, religious nuts, white people, who the fuck knows. I dont want the guy in office.

@CygnusZero4
Funny you bring up the religious nuts thing. I find it hard to believe that the Republican candidate is a Mormon and that the Christian right would support him. They have a hard enough time accepting anyone or anything that isn't traditionally religious, and then this guy comes along with a belief system that is anything but traditional. I am still struggling as to how this happened.- he has many moneyzRamanisky2

- they don't support him - this is why the nomination took so long

- He believes that God lives on a planet named Kolab.monospaced

I didnt even know he was a mormon. Really havent been following him much.
- So yeah, scratch the religious nuts comment. He has no chance to win.CygnusZero4
- odd, isn't it?monospaced
- If he can't get the Democrat's vote, and he can't get the Christian vote, what the hell is he doing?monospaced
- I think he's conned the Christians into thinking Mormons are "close enough"monospaced
- wait until they find out he doesn't believe Jesus was the ultimate word on God.monospaced
- but Barack won't be the one to point that out.CyBrainX

Wouldn't be surprised if the same people that showed up in droves at CFA yesterday would vote for him...

"The LDS Church historically taught that the practice of homosexuality, meaning sexual behavior with someone of the same sex,[7] was a choice or a curable mental illness.[8] Recent leadership has indicated that it may not be a conscious choice and that it may be treatable.[9] The church teaches that regardless of the cause of same sex attraction, one can and must avoid all immoral relationships, including homosexual relations."
- I read that as the LSD church... would be so much more fun.

Obama is doing an ok job anyway. The guy inherited a disaster and things have showed signs of improvement. Job market is slowly getting better, housing market is definitely improving.
Pulling out of a recession takes years, decades sometimes. Hell, we needed to get involved in WWII just to create a lot of work to help pull us out of that depression. Took over a decade to recover from the great depression.
We're seeing small improvements which is all you can expect after only 3 years in office. Takes a long time. Deserves more time.
- I'm starting to feel that the role of President doesn't really come with much power anymore.monospaced
- I don't think the position even lends itself well to making "things better"monospaced
- No, the USA let the UK rot before getting involved. It only paid back its debt in 2007qTime
- I dont think the president has nearly as much power over the economy as everyone else seems to.CyBrainX
- but let's not forget this country "elected" Bush twice. Any moron can win.CyBrainX

I'm a died-in-the-wool conservative and there's no way in hell i'm voting for Romney. Guy is a fucking pathological liar and a nutjob to boot.
As much as I disagree with some of Obama's policies he'll be taking my vote this year.
- I'm trying to see the difference between the two that would make you say that.zenmasterfoo

- Good for you, d_rek, that's a rational response that's been somewhat missing in all this,
thanks for your position.mikotondria3 - C'mon. Romney is insane. At least Obama doesn't strike me as a lunatic. Rational or not you can't argue with that.d_rek

The role of president never really had all that much power. This isnt a dictatorship. Even he can be thrown out of office legally if he makes 1 mistake.
He has advisors for everything, everything he wants to do needs to be approved. He's a figurehead, a leader, not 1 guy fixing everything. Obama is doing as well as anyone could do with this mess that Bush handed him. We're seeing small improvements here and there. Noone could do better with a recession than get some small little victories over just 3 years. Give him another 4.
- Could take 10+ years for things to get back to the way they were, and Obama can only get that ball rolling.CygnusZero4
- Which is what he's done so far.CygnusZero4
- I agree with you. And for that reason it's really hard to criticize a President. You really have to blame the party and the system.monospaced

White, lower-class, poor, out of work, struggling Americans. That's who. People who think that a gazillionaire elitist who has never known struggle, and had a stake in eliminating American jobs for corporate gain, has their best interests in mind.

I cant imagine the republican party is all that confident in him winning this. Isnt Obama kicking his ass in many of the polls?
I think people recognize that Obama's head and heart are in the right place. And hopefully people are smart enough to know that recessions dont get fixed in 1 presidential term. Took 3 presidents to fix the great depression.
This is just a recession, and Obama has made some improvements, so there's literally no good reason to replace the guy. If you dont agree with some of his policies, thats fine. I doubt any president exists that aligns with any of us perfectly. The bottom line is though things havent gotten worse, theyve improved in areas, and he needs more time to keep it moving forward, then hand it off to the next guy.
Obama is a bridge between Bush and the next guy, just trying to get it moving in the right direction and I think he's been doing that.
- not really. it's a split in most major polls now. and Romney has climbed up to that over the last few months.zenmasterfoo
- lol @ obamas head and heart being in the right place. Sucker.set

Romney stands for absolutely nothing. He never says anything meaningful.
It's dizzying watching him flip flop on statements. Fucking flip flopped on the Israel/Palestine culture comment 3 times within 24 hours.
- monospaced0
The recent Republican nominee track-record is so bad that I almost feel like they aren't even trying anymore. Sarah Palin? Newt Gingrich? Mitt Romney? During the debates I found it hard to tell the difference between the SNL mockery and the real thing. If they want a fighting chance they absolutely must put up someone credible, and so far it almost seems like a bad joke.

There's a good article about him in this month's GQ. It confirms that he may indeed be inhuman. He's certainly doing his damnedest to not show a shred of emotion in any way.

Got to agree with everything Cygnus has said here.
- dbloc0
he'll never win.
