anyone got any of the moo luxe cards? im mad keen on them despite them being 3x the money delivering 1 10th the qty of cards over the standard affair.

Just do it, then report back.

People's subjectivity on such things means you can't really rely on whatever people come back to you here with.

Suffice to say, imho, it's worth complementing your bulk card stock with a smaller number of quality, high impact cards, for particular purposes.

I presume you're talking business cards here?

    • Besides, if they're shit you can always get your money back.detritus

Always been happy with cards i've had done with Moo.
These look pretty decent and worth a go.
It's only £24 for a run of 50. Go for it and report back like Detritus says.

I ordered some as a trial as a business card for my blog and they came out very nicely. They had some special offer. So it was about £50 for 200. Not bad for what are essentially triplexed cards. And they arrived in about a week, possibly less.

    • They're actually quadplexed, which is even better because quad is more than tri.orrinward2
    • Gillette Hexplex business cards, now with 6 blades for a smoother shave.orrinward2
    • only thing I'd say is that the white paper front and back is very thing, so it peels at the edges a little.BaskerviIle

    • Unless you have them in a specialized case- they scuff very easily- if they are slightly rubbing against one another- not sure if they offer any protective coatings. the thickness is nice- but moot if it looks like crap.BH26

I got some as a test, 50 for thirty odd quid.

I didn't like the interface that was used to upload the artwork, I didn't like the fact that you could only choose their colours for the edging, I wasn't to happy with the clarity of some of the smaller text on the card (compared to the same print job at a local printer).

That said they turned up in amazing time, the cost for larger runs are good, I have used them at a few network events and people have remarked on them (in a positive manner, rather than throwing them back in my face and swearing at me).

So my concerns might be me being a moanie git who is to caught up in the smaller details...

    • Perhaps next time I will just up the point size of some of the text, which was my main beef...

I assume these are digitally printed, yes? Although digital has improved a lot over the last few years, especially with the indigo presses, it's still no comparison to getting it done offset. These seam good when you're in a pinch though.

i'm still on the fence with moo.

    the quality seems inconsistent.

i've got an order thru them that get's reprinted every few months, no changes - sometimes they come thru fine, other times they come out looking really bad. these are for behind the scenes use, so don't get in front of clients... but it keeps me from using them for more important things.

    • agreed, I wouldn't use them for client work (unless the client literally had no budget)BaskerviIle

I had 50 printed recently and, for the price, am happy with the result.

MOO advertise 50 luxe cards for £24 but once VAT and postage has been added it bumps the total up to about £35.
Also, as R-al said, you can only choose between white, black, blue and red for your edging colour - something MOO doesn't mention until you start designing/uploading your design.
My cards have a black front and back with a black edge but as the card is actually white the edges do scuff and peel slightly to show the white beneath, which isn't great.

On the whole, they look good, they feel nice and thick/heavy, the delivery is quick and price is fair and if there are any problems MOO will run you another batch free of charge.
