I'm part of a Brooklyn based start up that's streaming live events and performances in the city. We're in public beta and right now only providing streams to be purchased in US and Canada but we have a bunch of free streams of different NYC spots.
We're testing an event tonight - Friday Night Poetry Slam at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in the LES. If you're not doing anything check it out - https://beta.gander.tv/event/fri…
It's amazing to be working within this streaming universe, so many moving parts, so many devices to test, so many use cases to design for. Have a look at the site and if you see any bugs anywhere or anything let me know.
We spend all day designing, coding, and then spend nights testing the streams from venues

Nice work - question for you: hard to tell if the two venues cited were taped or not - I watched from Vietnam, 15:00h, 23 June - bars open past 4 AM in NYC? Maybe add a taped/live tag? Regardless, like the idea, kind of reminds me of the original of we live in public project... good luck!

As I watch yet another young lady fly off the mechanical bull (in a skirt/dress, thonged ass for all to see - thanks and everything, but duh, what were you thinking?) as much as I like the idea and can see your business model in play, I wonder about the legal aspects. At the Saloon they have a photographer capturing those "special moments" as a value add for the bar; I'm guessing they proudly advertise the opportunity. Would they advertise your service with a warranty disclaimer type statement ("you may be video recorded/filmed tonight")?
Just thinking - hopefully nothing more serious than some young suburbanite's arse gets exposed, but I can see some risk if something ugly goes down, like assault, et al.
Hopefully your business model includes a lawyer or three...
