How come when I export an InDesign file to PDF, the InDesign file suddenly becomes "unsaved" and I have to save it again? Damn inconvenient when you're trying to get a lot done.
Anyone else get this problem?

It isn't a problem, it's a feature. It saves the location of the PDF and some of the printer/output settings you used, so you don't have to go searching for the same subfolder every time.

I believe it's saving the PDF output settings (and file name) associated with the InDesign file. I don't think it's exactly a problem.

It's just like when you do save for web in Photoshop.
It's so you don't have to redo those settings every time.

if you put in a range of pages to make the PDF instead of choosing all, it won't make your file "unsaved" i've noticed.

It's saving asking you to save the type of PDF you exported in the file settings

all you have to do is hit the enter/return key

Yes, a feature. You can solve this with a little script.
