I think I'm missing something here, I'm using Photoshop CS6 and I have a hue/saturation adjustment layer. The selective range icons are greyed out, I'm pretty sure you used to be able to simply use them whenever, what am I missing?

Adobe has a lot of features in Photoshop that only work in 32bit mode.
Close Photoshop, go to Applications, right-click PS > Get Info.
Check the box [ ] Open in 32bit mode.
    Re-open PS.

    • hmm. this exists in CS5, I only have CS6 Beta here and it doesn't have that checkbox...ESKEMA

Never mind, I realised you can force them to be enabled by using the tool which lets you click any area of the image and adjust locally. Sort of annoying that you need to do that now though, surely there's another way?

I'm using x64, the feature is definitely there, it's just a really backwards way of using it.

    • Also, I was of the understanding that all the features should be the same, only difference is plugins must be x64kalkal1/2
      be x64 to workkalkal2/2

For example, in PS x64, the "Image > Adjustments > Variations.." isn't there at all, you have to open in x32 for it to be available. The same with some others...

Still, the eyedropper tools are there and work, only after you use the selective tool though which is stupid.
