Its still in the minority, its a large country, yes these are horrific atrocities. Don't get involved in the drug cartels, or go to places in the country deemed currently dangerous. Rest of it is a beautiful place full of culture, fantastically kind, and generous people.

I went to Mexico (south, central, west) in Jan this year and had a great time, was lovely and safe as. What is it with the way so many Americans talk about Mexico?! Is your Tv stuck on Fox news, are you married to your sister? Have you actually been there?!
Funnily enough, the only dodgy person I saw this was an American crackhead in Puerto Escondido. Oh the irony.
