Any "farmy" or agricultural-like fonts... out there?
I tried the whole plaid thing on the type but it may have been a lil' too much for my client...

Maybe look at some vintage seed packets or get your hands on a Farmers Almanac...If you have a Lee Valley store in your area they have allot of gardening/farming/wood working books that could easily bring on some inspiration. Letterhead fonts comes to mind as well.

Um, you need to check out the new Field Notes 'national crop edition'
Aaron Draplin is such a cool guy. The whole reason he started Field Notes was because of all the little freebies that agricultural companies used to give to farmers, Draplin collects them. He's also scanned lots of the collection. will be a great resource for you:

Heavily depends on the which kind of farmy vibe you're going for since agribusiness literally covers the map. Are you tilting rural farming (crops), or suburban farming (gardening), or urban farming...are you tilting "dust on the coveralls" or "blue ribbon showcase" ...once you have that nailed down, figuring out a type style is easy. If you're wanting dust and denim and rural, go grotesque utilitarian with modest embellishment. If you're wanting suburban, then serifs, script (evocative of the 1950s) and even some throwback American Victorian and county fairs (faux throwback seed packs) could be an option. If you're wanting urban, then follow the JBG example which doesn't try to look like it's been around for 75 years.
Good luck! Sounds like a fun gig. A couple snapshots below from out-and-about in case it helps:
