BBC’s documentary that exams four great mathematicians: Georg Cantor, Ludwig Boltzmann, Kurt Gödel and Alan Turing whose work profoundly influenced modern mathematics but also may have drove them insane. Cantor studied set theory. Boltzmann made profound contributions in statistical mechanics and statistical thermodynamics. Gödel is remembered for his incompleteness theorems. Turing furthered Gödel’s work and laid the foundation for computer science. They all spent their final years battling mental illness.

-- I think Turing was considered mentally ill because he was gay.WrappedInBooks

Yeah I saw this on TV. Really amazing. I wish it would happen to me. I like that young guy that went to Iceland and learned the language in a week. Nuts!

Colonel Harland Sanders overcame his lack of education to become the biggest drumstick in the fried chicken business. His father died when he was six years old, and since his mother worked, he was forced to cook for his family. After dropping out of elementary school, Sanders worked many jobs, including firefighter, steamboat driver, and insurance salesman. He later earned a law degree from a correspondence school. Sanders' cooking and business experience helped him make millions as the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (now KFC).

How is that one drawing a representation of Pi? Would love to know.
- obv. i can't really explain it, but pi is the circumference devided by the diameter. by drawing every single mathematical point from a to b he is recreating that calculation visually...sine
- point from a to b he is recreating that calculation visually... for that circle... or something like that...sine
- ie. he's drawing all the slices of the pi... hehe.sine
